Control Keynote and PowerPoint slides from your iPhone
Leave the clicker at home. RPad turns your iPhone, iPad or Android phone into a presentation remote for your Mac or PC, and your Apple Watch can change slides too.
It works with Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides and PDFs. Your phone talks to the computer over the room's Wi‑Fi, so there's no USB receiver to forget.
Set up before your talk
- Install RPad on the computer you present from: the free Mac app, RPad for Windows or RPad for Linux.
- Open RPad on your iPhone, iPad or Android phone. Put it on the same Wi‑Fi network as the computer.
- Tap the computer and type the 6-digit code it shows. Pairing happens once, so do it before you're on stage.
- Choose Present at the top of the screen.
Presenting
- Start opens the slideshow in Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides or a PDF in Preview.
- Tap the large right area, or swipe left, for the next slide. The left area, or a swipe right, goes back.
- Touch and hold, then move your finger to point at something on the slide.
- Black blanks the screen when you want attention on you; End exits the slideshow.
- A timer starts with your first slide, so you can keep an eye on the clock.
Switch back to the trackpad at any time to click a link, play a video or open another file.
Apple Watch as a slide clicker
RPad for Apple Watch is included with the iPhone app. After you connect on the iPhone once, Next and Previous on the watch change slides while the iPhone stays in your pocket. The Digital Crown changes the volume, and on Apple Watch Series 9, Ultra 2 and later, double tap goes to the next slide. On a Mac you can remap the buttons to any shortcut.
On a Windows PC
RPad for Windows supports Present mode and the Apple Watch remote with PowerPoint, Keynote for iCloud and Google Slides. It needs its own licence after a 7-day free trial; see RPad for Windows.
Price
The phone app is free for 7 days, then RPad Pro is a one-time purchase of $5.99 on the App Store (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and the Mac app included) or your local price on Google Play. The Mac app is free; RPad for PC (Windows and Linux) is US$9.99 once.
Questions
Can I control PowerPoint from my iPhone?
Yes. RPad changes PowerPoint slides on a Mac or a Windows PC from your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or Apple Watch. It sends the same keys a presentation clicker does.
Does it work with Google Slides?
Yes. Start the slideshow in your browser, or tap Start in RPad, and change slides as usual.
Do I need internet at the venue?
No, but the phone and the computer must be on the same Wi‑Fi network. On a Mac with an iPhone or iPad, Direct Wi‑Fi can connect them without a shared network.
Does the Apple Watch need the iPhone nearby?
Yes. The watch sends its controls through your iPhone, which can stay in your pocket.
